Description
I've gotten quite a bit of progress done on this commission the past few days! Her body is sewn, trimmed and ready to be dyed, which I'm doing right now! I'm going to finish the dying process tomorrow so she can dry the few days that I will be away. (I'm going on vacation starting this coming Saturday! So I'll be away until next Wednesday, the 18th.)
Anyway, here's a little description of the photo's shown:
1. Sculpture completely painted and sealed with matte spray and resin gloss on the eyes, mouth/lip and claws! I also made a tiny skull for her necklace.
2. Armature construction completed, aluminium wire joined with epoxy putty (Oatey brand). Hockey tape applied over wire and putty, "bones" attached over tape, final layer of hockey tape applied.
3. Quilt batting wrapped around armature to create body shape, pattern is then made.
4. Body sewn completely.
5. Faux fur is trimmed to look less puffy.
I need to touch up the paint on her face making the white-ish markings a little more white. Also, I still have to find the appropriate colour fur for her mane, so that's the only part missing!
I'll be finished next weekend!

You use little cabochons for the eyes right? How do you get them into the head without breaking the clay?? Do you just hollow out the head and put them in that way?
